Overview
Date: Sunday, October 18 • 2-4:30pm
Location: Rooted 1010 N 12th Ave., Room 238
Workshop: 2.5 hours
Investment: $110 per person
This will be a smaller, more involved workshop with limited seating, giving us plenty of time to work through each step together.
Make a butter dish worthy of staying out on the counter.
Join us at Rooted for a hands-on pottery workshop where you’ll create your own covered ceramic butter dish from start to finish. Using slab-building techniques, we’ll hand build both the cloch-style cover and coordinating base, add a handle, refine the shape and fit, then decorate your finished pieces with underglaze.
No pottery experience needed. I’ll guide you through the process step-by-step.
Keep it simple, add stripes or a painted pattern, play with color, or come with a design already in mind. I’ll guide you through each step of this project along the way.

Good to Know
You may want to wear something you don’t mind getting a little clay on. Clay washes easily out of most clothing but just in case!
Part of the beauty of pottery is its unpredictability. Variations, imperfections, and occasionally even cracks can happen during the drying and firing. It’s all part of working with clay, and something to embrace in the handmade process.
Workshop ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
By attending or participating in any Rooted by Erika Ceramics class, event, or studio activity, you acknowledge and consent to being photographed or recorded for documentation and promotional purposes by the studio.
