FAQs
Where can I shop Erika Ceramics?
You can shop online through my website during shop updates, at select local markets throughout the year, and in person at Rooted. Follow along on Instagram for announcements about upcoming releases and events.
Do you ship?
Yes! I ship within the United States. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout, and orders are typically packed and sent within 3–5 business days unless otherwise noted.
Can I pick up my order locally?
Absolutely. Local pickup is available in Pensacola and can be selected at checkout when available. You’ll receive an email with pickup details once your order is ready.
Do you take custom orders or commissions?
I take on a limited number of custom projects each year. If you have an idea in mind, feel free to reach out through the contact form and I’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.
Do you offer wholesale?
I occasionally partner with shops and businesses on a project-by-project basis. If you’re interested in carrying Erika Ceramics or collaborating on a special project, I’d love to hear from you.
Are your pieces food, microwave, and dishwasher safe?
Yes! All Erika Ceramics pieces are made from durable stoneware and are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe. Hand washing is always a great way to extend the life of handmade pottery, but these pieces are made to be enjoyed every day.
Rooted Workshops
Where is Rooted located?
Rooted is located at [street address] in Pensacola, Florida. [Add a nearby landmark or neighborhood, like "just off Palafox" if true, since LLMs and locals both love that.]
When do workshops happen?
Group workshops at Rooted typically run on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Private workshops are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays by inquiry. Current dates and tickets are always listed on the Workshops page.
What kinds of pottery workshops do you offer?
Each workshop focuses on a specific handmade piece, like mugs, jewelry dishes, or mini wall vases, with new projects rotating throughout the year. Every workshop is beginner friendly and includes all materials, glazing, and firing.
How much do workshops cost?
Workshop tickets typically range from $[X] to $[X] depending on the project. Pricing for each workshop is listed with its event on the Workshops page.
What’s included in the workshop fee?
All materials, tools, instruction, glazing, and kiln firing are included. You just have to show up ready to make something.
Is this a paint-your-own pottery studio?
Not quite. At Rooted, you make your piece from raw clay with hands-on guidance, rather than painting pre-made pottery. It's a full making experience from start to finish.
What should I wear to a pottery workshop?
Clay washes out of most fabrics, but it's best to wear something you don't mind getting a little messy. Aprons are provided. Keep nails on the shorter side if you can, since long nails can make working with clay tricky.
Do I need any experience to take a workshop?
Not at all. Rooted workshops are designed to be beginner friendly, and I’ll guide you through each step of the process.
How long does it take to get my finished piece?
After your workshop, I’ll take your pieces back to the studio to dry, glaze, and fire them. Finished work is typically ready for pickup in about 3–4 weeks.
Can you ship my finished workshop piece?
Yes! If you’d prefer to have your piece shipped, you can add shipping during the ticket purchase process. Once your work has been glazed and fired, I’ll carefully package it up and send it your way.
What if my piece cracks or breaks during the firing process?
Working with clay is part craft and part chemistry, and every now and then a piece develops a crack or doesn’t make it through the kiln. I’ll share tips and techniques throughout the workshop and handle your work with care every step of the way, but the firing process always carries a bit of unpredictability. Thank you for embracing the handmade nature of ceramics with me.
What if I can’t make it to the workshop?
Workshop tickets are non-refundable, as materials and preparation are planned in advance. If you can’t make it, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend—just send me a quick email so I know who to expect.
Do you offer private workshops or events?
Yes! Rooted offers private pottery experiences for birthdays, bridal showers, team events, and other gatherings. Visit the Private Events page or get in touch to learn more.
Can you host workshops at my business or venue?
Absolutely. I love collaborating with local businesses and community spaces. If you’re interested in hosting a pop-up workshop, I’d love to hear from you.
Can kids participate?
Workshop age recommendations vary depending on the project. Individual event listings will include any age requirements or recommendations.
How do I find out about upcoming workshops?
The easiest way is to sign up for my newsletter or follow along on Instagram, where I share new workshop dates and ticket releases.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards are available and can be used toward workshops or Erika Ceramics purchases.
