This will be a smaller, more intimate workshop with limited seating.
Come make a ceramic serving platter and spoon of your very own.
Join us at Rooted for a hands-on pottery workshop where you’ll create a generously sized ceramic serving platter (approximately 20” long) and coordinating spoon from start to finish. We’ll build each piece by hand using slabs of white clay, then decorate them with underglaze (paint) to make the set entirely your own.
No pottery experience needed. I’ll guide you through the process step-by-step, from shaping and finishing your platter to forming your spoon and adding the details that make both pieces feel like yours.
Keep your set simple, add a painted pattern, play with color, or come with a design already in mind. Either way, you’ll leave having made a one-of-a-kind serving set ready for everything from cheese and crackers to olives, dips, and little snacks. Just in time for holiday gatherings!
What you’ll make and learn
Shape and build your own ceramic serving platter (approximately 20” long)
Make a coordinating ceramic spoon
Learn the basics of slab handbuilding
Decorate your pieces using colorful underglazes
What’s Included
Your ticket includes all clay, tools, materials, instruction, underglazes, clear glazing, and kiln firing.
After the Workshop
Your platter and spoon will stay with me to dry slowly before being fired in the kiln, finished with a clear glaze, and fired once more.
Finished pieces will be ready for pickup at Rooted approximately 3-5 weeks after the workshop. You’ll receive an email when yours is ready.
Once finished and fired, your pieces will be food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.

This workshop is for adults ages 18 and up.
Good to Know
Please wear something you don’t mind getting a little clay on. Clay washes easily out of most clothing.
Part of the beauty of pottery is its unpredictability. Variations, imperfections, and occasionally even cracks can happen during the drying and firing. It’s all part of working with clay, and something to embrace in the handmade process.
Workshop ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
